All signs are now pointing towards Sega adapting their other franchises into future films and connecting them all within some sort of Sega Cinematic Universe.

Sega’s impressive catalog of IPs could be seen across a multitude of smaller screens, which had to be a pleasant surprise for hardcore gamers sitting in those movie theatre seats. One of the best parts of the movie didn’t even happen during the film itself – it was actually the pre-movie sequence that was reminiscent of the ones moviegoers are used to seeing before MCU and DCEU films. Fast forward to the film’s ongoing performance in theaters and we now live in a world where a Sonic the Hedgehog film delivered big box office numbers and garnered favorable reviews. Once the character’s cuter and less horrifying appearance was revealed, fan goodwill was showered upon the project once the second trailer became public. In a rare moment of self-reflection and actually listening to fan feedback, the powers that be went back to the drawing board to drastically alter their onscreen model of everyone’s favorite hedgehog. Sonic was morphed into a 3D representation of every young child’s make-believe closet monster, the use of the song “Gangsta’s Paradise” made no sense thematically and everything just appeared to be heading down the usual terrain of terrible video game movie fodder. When the first piece of footage for the Sonic the Hedgehog film was released, onlookers hung their heads in disgust at what was shown to them. NFS Hot Pursuit (same as above, lower FPS)īioshock (runs well on potato-quality settings)īlake Stone: Aliens of Gold + Planet StrikeīloodRayne (has some considerable lag during some scenes, otherwise works)īorderlands (extreme potato settings will run well)ĭoom 3: BFG Edition (3 itself also runs flawlessly)ĭuke Nukem Forever (requires extremely low texture and resolution settings to play normally)į.E.A.R.A big-budget Hollywood blockbuster based on Sega’s furry speedster shouldn’t have worked. Nail'd (low resolution = slightly slow FPS for me still, but still plays well)

So basically, this is my attempt at a no-BS list of GOOD games that play.Įuro Truck Simulator (1 and 2, although 2 still has some FPS lag for me)īurnout Paradise (resolution all the way down, looks bad but still plays fine) Although lots of these games are 'indies', they are all games that I'd personally recommend and have a high enough replay value to actually count. Note: I also attempted to exclude all worthless titles and shovelware.
I apologize for some of the order mix-ups or potential duplicates. To make up for the poor ordering, separate lists have been created in order for easier browsing. Only games where mild FPS loss doesn't interfere with actual gameplay are listed, and therefore are deemed playable (although your standards may differ). While most of these games require a reduction in resolution, textures, shadows or reflections, the extreme cases of quality reduction and FPS loss are specified where applicable.

Here's my setup, for reference: Windows 10 HomeĪll of these games are playable on my system. There are actually quite a lot of games that will run on the worst systems in the world (like mine) and I thought I'd share the ones that work the best, or on a totally playable level. I have a lo-spec laptop and have tested / played thousands of games on it.
